                                    An early photo

Image may contain: sky, water, outdoor and nature

This photograph of the front at Clevedon shows the beach as it used to be before the lake was built.
Then at the highest tides of the year  rubbish that had floated into that corner of the beach stayed there until the next highest tide some 3 months later.
Gently and quietly disappointing its smells to all who ventured near.
A  gentleman called Nutting purchased the Sal House and the bit of wood and presented the wood to the Clevedon Council putting the ball squarely in their court.
This put 'stinky corner' in the councils plot, and they had to fence it off  by building the lake wall giving the town an excellent bathing place.
The house later became The Salthouse pub.

                                Queen's Cottage

How many people will be able to place this old cottage in its relation-ship to the Clevedon Court Estate?
I have taken the liberty of using this picture - after putting the name clearly across it - in the hope that people who use it will acknowledge the Clevedon Court collection. A collection I was permitted to photograph some of the contents.
Known by the familiar Queen Anne's Cottage by many old Clevedonians it no looks a lot different than it did when this photograph was taken.
Have you visited Clevedon Court?
I expect the custodians could enlighten you as to where it lay and still does - on a more modern guise.

I must start to check the early morning sky again to see if the jackdaws are still flighting up from the area along the coast near Weston.
It could well be from what is left of the Weston former 'Grand Pier' where before the war Campbell's steamers plied their buy trade.
The picture used here is one taken last autumn before the stroke laid me low.

Odd how adding or subtracting colour to a picture can change the impassion that it produces.
These two pix [actually one pic treated] show Abbots Pool at Abbots Leigh Taken with my treated camera an adapted Sony 350 to take pictures  in infra-red.
I enjoyed messing about - I never fell for the honeyed tones of camera salesmen when they  explained how with the new X model camera sales of the second hand year old, W model were now very slow. Only see it displayed in the shop a few weeks later at a fabulous price. No thanks I will keep it and use it as a back-up or special.
What is your opinion?

Came across this and thought it worth sharing.

A married couple was in a terrible accident where the woman's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from her body because she was too skinny. So the husband offered to donate some of his own skin.
However, the only skin on his body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from his buttocks.
The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and requested that the doctor also honour their secret. After all, this was a very delicate matter.
After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the woman's new beauty. She looked more beautiful than she ever had before! All her friends and relatives just went on and on about her youthful beauty!
One day, she was alone with her husband, and she was overcome with emotion at his sacrifice. She said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. How can I possibly repay you?"

"My darling," he replied, "I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek."

Couldn't get the picture after all.
They never visited as two families again.
I was so astonished to see 10 jackdaws at one got I was too late to get a  good shot.
